The Cotswolds are a place like no other. Famed for its quaint villages, meandering rivers and rolling hills, the area is the ultimate encapsulation of old English charm. With the use of a top of the range E-bike, the aforementioned hills will be no barrier to you exploring the most impressive sites and some hidden gems, as you can glide up them with the assistance on tap. After being helped around the rides by your E-bike, pamper yourself some more in our selection of luxurious spa hotels, whether it may be with a relaxing treatment or simply some excellent food and drink. Comfort is all but guaranteed.

On Arrival get check in to your hotel. Explore the grounds of your stunning hotel, have your dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Your first days cycling starts with a visit to the pretty town of Tetbury, where you’ll find some nice cafes if you need a bit of extra caffeine or cake to fuel your ride. From here you turn south and head towards the National Arboretum, which is worth a short diversion from our route for a visit, before following the beautifully peaceful lanes towards Wotton-Under-Edge, where you’ll find a pretty high street with plenty of places to refuel, relax and get acquainted with the pace of life in the Cotswolds. Yet more quiet lanes take you back to the hotel in time for another night of ultimate relaxation.

Approx. riding time: 2 hours

We’ll take care of your luggage today whilst you cruise north aboard your e-bike, up to your next hotel in Painswick. It’s a fairly short route today with a flat first half and a couple of hills later on – but nothing you’ll notice with a bit of electric assistance! On the way, you’ll pass through the lovely little town of Nailsworth before reaching Stroud, a vibrant and trendy town brimming with independent shops and cafes. Lock up your bikes and explore here, perhaps grabbing a bit to eat at lunch, before setting off again for The Painswick through beautiful green hills.

Approx. riding time: 2 hours

The village of Painswick is a gorgeous little spot and may tempt you into a day off the bike today. But for those looking to cycle, we have a great route into the nearby countryside. The route has a few hills today, so make sure your battery is fully charged before setting off. The highlights today are the Great Witcombe Roman Villa, Painswick Rococo Garden and the iconic Cotswolds countryside. Pack a picnic, take it easy and enjoy a relaxing ride.

Approx. riding time: 2.5 hours

Time to move on once more. We’ll swing by to collect your luggage, leaving you free to set off and ride at your own pace. Today’s route is another showcase of the beautiful blend of greenspaces and interesting towns that makes the Cotswolds so special. Start the day with a coffee at The Painswick Pooch, before passing country pubs and a brewery on your way to the town of Cirencester. This town with a rich Roman history is now a very trendy spot with a number of great tea rooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants. We recommend taking lunch here before taking on the last few miles to Barnsley.

This is an optional ride but is our favorite of the whole week – so we suggest you give it a go! It takes you to some of the region’s most famous villages that really shouldn’t be missed. Start the ride by heading north to Burford, on the banks of the River Windrush. You will follow the river to begin with, hopping from village to village, before approaching Bourton-on-the-Water and then Lower Slaughter. These two villages are arguably the two finest examples of what makes the Cotswold’s just so special and we highly recommend locking up your bikes for a while to explore and enjoy them. When it’s time to head back, you’ll follow a route through yet more scenic villages and countryside all the way to the welcoming sight of Barnsley House.

Approx. riding time: 3.5 hours

Today starts with a peaceful ride on small country lanes, through a range of cute hamlets of typical sandstone houses, before taking you back through the town of Cirencester, known as the gateway to the Cotswold’s. Cruise easily aboard your E-bikes through the tranquil countryside all the way to your next luxurious spa hotel. Check-in, unwind and indulge.

Approx. riding time: 2.5 hours
